43 Days in…STO Update

Hey people – been a little while since I’ve done an update here, so lets go over whats happened in game since then.

I made Rear Admiral 5 on the 13th of Feb – 2 days after my last post shortly after Cryptic opened the borg area that you can access from Admiral 3 (Level 43) and the daily quest to start the grind for epic gear that you buy with badges of exploration.

The new missions included a brilliant mission where you’re re-united with Q! This mission was a real laugh and you get send back in time to Wolf 359 to ensure a certain Station commander is not killed by the borg.

A couple of weeks later they released the first of 5 new episodes of content – called the Infected.

This is what I would call one of the first really major challenges in the game – Its brilliant even if it is quite difficult – I’ve not completed it yet, but I’ve only tried it the once as it seems to take 1-2 hours to complete if you have a reasonable group.

The 2nd episode and first major update to the game is coming this week – I cant wait to get that in and be able to re-spec my characters.

Ltnt Tor’at, my Cardassian science officer made it to Rear Admiral 5 last night – and I’m working on my Engineering character now – She’s almost Ltnt Commander. Leveling up characters is quite easy really, Its nice to be able to try all 3 path’s as well. Science was loads of fun, but lacked real punch in a fight even if they’re able to rip through shields like there’s nothing there. You really need a tactical officer with you to make quick work of the other ships.
