Star Trek Online – Day 6

By alex

Captains Log, Stardate 63560.3.

3 Days have passed since my last log entry, and its been a bumpy ride. The crew and I have been bought together through thick and thin and we’ve made it.

We’ve battled the Romulans, Remans, and Hirogen in his sector of space, and its been tough – we even bumped into a Crystaline Entity. (wow I forgot how corny the first season of TNG was..!)

Obviously I took a few pictures to chronicle my adventures – not nearly enough though!

Rescuing the crew from a Runabout.

Fighting Some Romulans.

Me in my TNG Uniform I got with the Collectors Edition.

To seek out new life….with HUGE Heads!!

On the Bridge of the Retribution-A

Large Federation Fleet fighting a massive Romulan Fleet.

Promoted to Commander…

This evening I was promoted to Commander. The USS Retribution NCC-94155-A has been mothballed and my new command, USS Retribution NCC-94155-B, has been commissioned. Some pictures below of her.

One Response so far

As a lifelong Star Trek fan I decided to pick up the game and at least try it out. Haven’t played any other game in 4 years. I at least deserve to try something else for a change of environment.

I got STO to play on my new Mac Pro. So far Im a Lt 5. Space & space combat is very cool and interesting. Ground combat is less cool and takes getting used to, but I’m adaptable and fairly good at it so far. So it’s ok.

Have had a bit of server ups and downs or disconnect here and there but not to bad though considering the game is new only a few days launched.

For the most part just trying to figure out things and playing the game each session. So far doing ok on my own figuring things out, some things are different on a Mac as well to try and do. But the fun is in learning something new and interesting.

Most annoying part of the game I see so far is the galactic a
amount of spam you see at a spacestation or in some sector zones. Spam seem to go by so fast you barely see what anyone said just trying to get a listening feel of what’s happening around. Too much spam though.

Haven’t quite figured out yet how to take a screenshot using my Mac it’s different than with windows I know. I did take one by accident just mashing keys to try to figure it out but no idea what keys I mashed at the time. Havent joined any Fleet as yet. So far it’s just fun to kinda be off alone doing stuff and figuring out how to do things or even simple things or discovering how to do something. Like I figured out how to find the Anomoly things, took a while but after doing them scans allot finally figured just by watching the scan the Blue beam always point in the direction of the unseen Anomoly. Saves me lot if time now zipping across sector space to find that one lone Anomoly.

Looking to soon make LT Cmdr Galo on my USS Ardent. Naming my Ship was kinda odvious.
