Retribution Nerfs…and Buffs….
So our good friend over at the Suicidal Zebra, Tim has done a nice report on the latest build of the PTR and Ret looks like its taken a few nerfs today and a couple of buffs too:
* Two-Handed Weapon Spec has returned to a 2/4/6% damage increase.
* Fanatisism has also returned to 5/10/15/20/25% Judgement crit chance.
* Seal of Blood changed to 28% of weapon damage (from 35%).
* Seal of Command changed to 56% of weapon damage (from 75%).
On top of those all Seal damage has been reduced 20%
These changes do seem a little unnecessary really – as people have mentioned on various forums etc yes we may be OP at level 70, but at 80 we wont be competitive compared to other classes.
Yesterday I solo’d Onyxia on the PTR – it took me about 45-50 mins but I managed it ok – never really getting health/mana lower than 40%. Onyxia hits like a school girl!
The trash leading up to her were harder!
So Once I’ve gotten my reset I’ll pop back in and say hello to her and see how well we can managed with the above changes to our spec.

Wow! You solo’d Onyxia? That is a feat! I wanna try! But I will probably wait until live to try that. I just dinged 47 on my Belf Pally today, so I have a lot of work to do, and I would rather spend it on live then on the PTR. Although, I every time I log in to the PTR, I get a free re-spec. Woot!

all you ever see on the PTR is ret qqing. blizz knee jerked and nerfed us already. Blizz fails. i will be canceling wow and moving over to warhammer.

Ummmmm…. what? Are you playing the same game? I have not noticed a difference in the actual feel of the Ret spec from a couple of weeks ago up to now on the PTR. I can still own people in PvP, I still own Strat likes Deadmines, and I can still solo Ramps. Of course I don’t have a DPS meter on the PTR, but I don’t think I need one to see that playing a Ret pally is super fun right now.
Maybe you should spend less time whining and ‘gg blizz kthxbai’ and more time enjoying the changes. Ret will actually be, *gasp* accepted in 5 and 10 mans now! And Holy CRAP! We can PvP with sh**ty gear! Like in my case, I have but 1 epic piece of Ret gear, and 3 pieces of green gear. My enchants are what a level 40 should be using and all but two of my gems are green.
Ya know what? Even with gear limitations like that, I still manage to hit between 5-9 in overall damage in AV. I made the Grim Reaper achievement within 10 minutes of my first BG. I can DPS reliably in a heroic instance, and I have never been in a heroic instance. Hell, Wow-heroes.com doesn’t even think I should be doing heroics from what I can tell. And yet there I am.
So we got a little nerf. Big whoop. We also got a little buff that same build which seemed to balance things out.
So you have fun with your cancelled WoW account Mr Anonymous, and enjoy WAR. Maybe you can fill up Relic’s forums with tears.

correction to above, you can qq on Mythic’s forums and fill that with your tears. Go ahead and qq on Relic’s forums as well, because they will care just as much.

Yeah, seems like ret is finally getting to the point where it should have been all along. Nice to see some good changes. Well, imo most are, ppl just need to adapt to em.
First time here, nice to see a full out retribution blog. Gonna go on my favorites on my own blog…
